Celebrations are continuing in Hollywood after two Irish Oscar wins.
Dubliner Richard Baneham scooped his second Academy Award for his visual effects work on Avatar, while Northern Irish comedy drama 'An Irish Goodbye' won Best Live Action Short.
However there was disappointment for the 'Banshees of Inisheerin' which failed to win anything despite nominations in 9 categories, while Irish language film 'An Cailín Ciúin' also left empty handed.
Arts Minister Catherine Martin who is in LA says the nominations alone are worth celebrating.
"Delighted for Tom and Ross with "An Irish Goodbye", and beautiful to see James Martin sung 'Happy Birthday'.
"Great to see Richie win his Oscar, and the cúpla focail at the beginning of his speech.
"Of course there's some disappointment there, but I want to give a very clear message that we are very proud of each and every nominee."
