The Events Centre could be complete by Christmas 2026.
That's according to Cork Chamber which says the only remaining barrier for building the 6000 seat venue is Government funding.
It's been 8 years since the sod was turned on the site which would host large conferences and events and the Taoiseach recently announced that he will bring a conclusion to the venue soon.
Speaking to RedFM News, Conor Healy of Cork Chamber says construction needs to get underway on the Events Centre:
"This type of infrastructure to the city will be of huge benefits, will be a huge benefit to the state will bring significant tax return in terms of repaying, whatever state monies will go into this project. But that decision is needed in the short term to allow this product now to move forward and if it does, you know this project can be delivered, be ready and complete by Christmas 2026 And would that be a fantastic thing to see".
