The Tánaiste says facemasks will not be required in the offices from October 22nd.
That's the date when almost all remaining Covid-19 restrictions will be lifted, as the country moves to a personal responsibility model.
The phased return to offices begins on September 20th, with employers to be given updated guidance on how it can be managed in the coming weeks.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar says most of the rules around mask wearing will be removed next month.
"There are only three places where you'll be legally required to [wear a mask] - that is public transport, health care and retail, and I would imagine that would include train stations and bus stations and so on.
"However, what we will be saying is that perhaps it makes sense for you to wear a mask in certain settings."
