A woman in her 70’s who died after she was struck by a car which mounted the footpath on Main Street in Charleville has been named locally as Mary Fehilly.
The crash occurred at around 2pm on Saturday as she was buying a Lotto ticket for Charleville GAA.
Mary Fehilly, who lives in Holycross Place in Charleville was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Charleville GAA is extending its deepest sympathies to the Fehilly family following the tragic death of Mary on Saturday on Main Street.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, and are seeking any dash cam footage or mobile phone footage from anyone who was in the vicinity of Main Street in Charleville at the time of the collision.
