The youngest TD in the country, who represents the Cork East constituency, is calling on the Foreign Affairs Minister to make a public apology over the Katherine Zappone controversy.
It comes as the Green Party leader has given his backing to Simon Coveney over the debacle.
Senior Ministers have been meeting at Dublin Castle as the Katherine Zappone controversy continues to cast a shadow over the Government.
24 year old Fianna Fail TD for Cork East James O'Connor says the Fine Gael minister has apologised to the Foreign Affairs Committee but needs to take that one step further.
"From my own perspective I think it's quite important that Minister Coveney goes before Dáil Éireann, as the parliament of our country, and to make a public apology to the people of the country, to his Oireachtas colleagues int he Government in Fianna Fáil, the Green Party and Fine Gael, and also those in the opposition."
