Former staff at a creche on the northside of the city say they are now actively looking for employment
The Before5 Family Centre announced it's sudden closure last month with the loss of 14 jobs
The workers had hoped that the jobs could be saved if the centre reopened quickly with a new operator but it's now emerged that substantial remedial work needs to be carried out before it can re-open
Northside Community Enterprises are to undertake the necessary works which are expected to take several months
Former staff member Christine Mullins told RedFM News that she is not in a position to wait for the works to be complete and will need to secure alternative employment:
"We remain hopeful that the centre will reopen next year. We know face the reality of unemployment, and that we have to seek work somewhere else, you know, no, it's just just the way things have went unfortunately."
