Dual star Aidan Walsh has called time on his intercounty career with Cork.

In a post on social media the Kanturk clubman confirmed the news, saying that he had enjoyed every minute of it and made life long friends along the way.

The 30 year old was part of the Rebels side that won the All Ireland Football Championship in 2010, being named young footballer of the year and winning an all star on the way too.

Walsh was named an All Star again in 2012.

Walsh joins his Kanturk team mate Anthony Nash in confirming his intercounty retirement this week.

"Was a pleasure and a privilege to get the opportunity to wear the red and white of Cork", Walsh said on Instagram.

"Enjoyed every minute of it and made life long friends along the way. Thanks to all my family and friends. I look forward to the next challenge and representing my club for as long as possible."

Meanwhile the Irish Examiner report this morning that Conor Lehane, Christopher Joyce and Chris O'Leary will not be involved with the Cork hurlers next season.
