Valley Rovers boss Paul Holland says the championship structure is putting dual clubs at a disadvantage.
Valley's footballers defeated Carrigaline yesterday in their final group game in the Bon Secours Premier Senior Football Championship to set up a quarter final meeting with Castlehaven.
Speaking to RedFM Sport after yesterday's win, Holland says the format is putting dual players under considerable pressure.
"The new championship is great for the spectators, but the dual players there - this is their seventh week in a row.
"The weekend off for the colleges/divisions we were in the South East Junior Hurling final. They have to face into Kilworth next weekend, and then whoever we get [in the quarter finals of the football].
"I think it's a great system, but dual clubs are going to suffer big time. I don't want players to end up picking one code, we don't want to see that.
"It'll be nine weeks [in a row], professional soccer players in England barely do that. Our guys are working Monday-Friday, 9-5.
"I do think that the system is excellent for excitement and for the spectators, but the structure is absolutely crippling dual clubs."
