Waterford boss Liam Cahill says he hopes they have grounds to appeal Austin Gleeson's red card before the Division 1 hurling final.
The Mount Sion man scored 2-3 but was sent to the line for an off the ball incident in the Deise's 19 point win over Wexford.
As a result, he'll miss Saturday night's league decider with Cork in Thurles.
Cahill says they will review the incident.
"We're disappointed not to finish the game with 15 players.
"It wasn't a dirty match. We'll have to look back at it, and see how bad the incident is.
"I'd like to think there'd be grounds for appeal, I hope, when we look back on it."
