Glen Rovers and Midleton will contest the Co Op Superstores Premier Senior Hurling Championship final on Sunday November 21st.

Midleton turned in an exceptional performance to see off the challenge of the defending champions Blackrock in the first game at Páirc Uí Chaoimh yesterday, winning on a scoreline of 4-22 to 3-19.

It's their first appearance in a final since 2018, looking to win for the first time since 2013.

The Glen meanwhile are in their 6th final since 2014, and their third final in a row, after a two point win over Sarsfields, 1-17 to 18 points.

Patrick Horgan was the man of the hour for the city side scoring 1-11, and told RedFM sport afterwards that it's great to be back in the final.

"To be honest I just want to represent the Glen, and all my friends in that dressing room there.

"As you can see by our performances we'd all die for each other on the field, and it showed again today.

"We have great battling spirit and a great never say die attitude, it's something in a team that you can't buy.

"We have it, and we've shown that for the last couple of years now."

For Midleton boss Ger Fitzgerald it's a chance to win a county title as a manager having captained the Magpies to the crown back in 1991, when they defeated Glen Rovers 1-17 to 1-8.

And Fitzgerald told RedFM Sport that his team were tremendous yesterday against the Rockies.

"It was a huge team performance, but we knew nothing else would suffice.

"We knew nothing else would suffice. We knew we had to dig in from the very start, and put our shoulders to the wheel and work, work, work and work - and then more work.

"That was the big thing - we knew if we matched them for work we'd be in with a good chance, and in fairness that's what we did.

"I think we challenged our whole team to up their work rate, and to be fair to them we've improved as the competition has gone on, and that was a huge performance today."
