New Cork hurling boss Pat Ryan has confirmed his backroom team.

Donal O’Mahony of Bishopstown, Wayne Sherlock of Blackrock, Youghal’s Brendan Coleman and Aghada’s Fergal Condon have all been confirmed at last night’s county board meeting.

The four had been Ryan’s selectors during his two seasons in charge of the Cork under 20side.

Donal O’Rourke of Waterford will take up a coaching role.

Meanwhile the process meanwhile to appoint Donal O’Mahony’s replacement as Cork under 20 boss will now begin.

Speaking to RedFM Sport recently, Ryan said it’s a massive honour to be named Cork boss.

“It is, and a big responsibility as well. I’m delighted that the County Board were able to have the faith in me that I can do this job, and I suppose putting a good backroom team around us and a lot of good fellas in the backroom team is vital to any successful team that we go forward with.

“It’s a big job, and you have to make sure you can do it from a family perspective and a work perspective, and that you can people involved that want to do it.

“Obviously having a very good working relationship with Kieran Kingston and Diarmuid O’Sullivan, I know the work that they’ve put in this year with Pat Mulcahy and Noel Furlong, and with Ger Cunningham and Christy O’Connor before that,  there’s an awful lot of good things going on, and hopefully I can bring something that can maybe get us further up the ladder.”
