Rory Gallagher will have no further involvement with the Derry footballers this year.
The county board confirmed Gallagher had stepped down as manager last night, with Ciaran Meenagh seeing out the year in charge.
Gallagher had stepped back from the role last weekend, following allegations of historic domestic abuse made by his estranged wife, Nicola.
He'd maintained those allegations had been dealt with at the time by the relevant authorities.
Derry GAA say they will be making no further comment.
The statement issued by Derry GAA reads:
"Derry GAA can today confirm that Rory Gallagher has stepped down as the county’s senior football manager.
"Ciaran Meenagh will assume the role for the rest of the 2023 season.
"Derry GAA will be making no further comment at this time."
