For the first time since 1986 St Finbarr's are the AIB Munster Club Football Champions.
The Togher side defeated Kerry kingpins Austin Stacks in Semple Stadium on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-10, Cillian Myers-Murray with a goal in the first minute., with Enda Dennehy getting the second late on to secure the win.
Down champions Kilcoo will provide the opposition in the All Ireland Semi Final, the back to back Ulster champions Derrygonnelly Harps by 16 points, 3-10 to 0-3.
Speaking on the Big Red Bench yesterday, Barrs captain Ian Maguire said it was an excellent team performance.
"We're a running team, and the likes of Brian Hayes were breaking the line and they were brilliant at it, and that's our calling card.
"We knew Stacks were going to get bodies behind the ball, so we were going to have to skin the cat another way.
"I thought Scully was brilliant bringing the ball forward, Brian gave us something different inside at times.
"We threw them a curveball from the throw in and it worked a charm. They're obviously known for their big man inside, we threw it at them and they couldn't defend it so they're obviously not doing that in training.
"We were very happy with it, but our third quarter is something we're going to have to learn from."
For manager Paul O'Keeffe planning begins immediately for the All Ireland semi final, and he told the Big Red Bench that his players aren't just content with a Munster title.
"That's the great thing about this bunch, I've been saying it all the time that they're not satisfied - I think that comes form the history of the club as well, they're trying to mark out their own legacy and that comes from matching what the teams in the 1980s did - winning All Ireland clubs.
"That's the bar that's set for us, and I don't mean that in any kind of patronising or arrogant way, I think that's the way the lads look at it. If they want to be recognised as a great Barrs team, and they're not far off it after today, then that's what we need to go for.
"Now look, we'll have a massive challenge now in the semi final, no doubt about that, but every game is going to be ferocious, so we expect a challenge."
