Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to fatal Midelton road crash

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a fatal road crash in Midleton.

A man in his 40's died after the road collision at Water Rock at half past one yesterday morning.

Any road users who were travelling on the N25 eastbound in the early hours of Sunday morning are asked to contact Gardaí.

Gardaí told RedFM News yesterday:

"Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 1:30am on Sunday 7th April 2024 on the N25 Eastbound at Water-Rock in Midleton, County Cork.
 
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other serious injuries to persons was reported.
 
The road is currently closed and the services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested. Local diversions are in place.
 
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
 
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N25 Eastbound between 1:15am and 1:30am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
