Gardai are probing an assault in Crosshaven at the weekend.
The incident occured on the town's main street on Saturday night at around 11.30pm.
It comes after calls were made earlier this month for increased Garda presence in the town.
The calls came on foot of a number of reports of antisocial behaviour in the the area. including an alleged attack on a teenage girl, a brawl and fights on the main road.
There are currently just 20 Gardai to serve the communities of Carrigaline and Crosshaven after losing 3 Gardai in the last year.
However in a statement to the Echo Gardai say they have increased patrols in the town during the summer months and have deployed a community policing team to area.
