The Irish Examiner reports the bones were found at Nancy Spain's bar on Barrack street during demolition works today.
Gardaí were called and the area remains sealed off this afternoon.
It's believed the bones are historic, however a forensic analysis is due to be carried out and will determine the course of the investigation.
Nancy Spain's has been closed for over 15 years and is being demolished to make way for over 30 apartments.
