A newborn baby who was critically injured in Co Louth is not believed to have been hurt accidentally.
The nine-week-old girl is fighting for her life in Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.
Gardai in Drogheda have opened an investigation into the incident, which happened on Tuesday.
Reporter Marc O'Driscoll, from LMFM, says gardai are remaining tight-tipped about the case.
"One line of enquiry that's being followed is that the child's injuries were not inflicted accidentally.
"An investigation is still in its early stages, Gardai are stressing that the full facts surrounding the girl sustained these injuries are still under investigation.
"They're currently trying to piece together the exact series of events that led to this newborn baby ending up in a critical condition in hospital."
