A technical examination is underway at a house in East Cork after Gardaí arrested a man on suspicion of the murder of Tina Satchwell.
The man in his 50's was arrested yesterday afternoon and a house in Youghal was sealed off.
Tina Satchwell was 45 years old when she was reported missing from her home in Youghal by her husband Richard on the 24th of March 2017.
An extensive search was carried out in the wake of the disappearance, including an almost two week long search of Mitchel’s Wood outside Castlemartyr in March 2018, however no trace of the Fermoy native has ever been discovered.
In an update yesterday evening, Garda Press said the missing person investigation has been upgraded to murder and is being led from Midleton Garda Station.
The man in his 50s is being held at Cobh Garda Station and a family liaison officer has been appointed to Tina’s family.
A house in Youghal town has been sealed off and a full search of the home and garden will take place.
