Gardai are warning houses under construction or renovation are being targeted by thieves for tools.
It follows a recent incident in Kanturk in which tools and a generator were taken.
Construction workers are being advised to have a lock up steal container on site for storage of equipment, not to leave tools on site or in vehicles overnight.
The Echo reports they are also being reminded to to keep a list of all their tools and to engrave or mark them and to consider security patrols on site.
