Over half of workplaces are down-scaling Christmas parties because overwhelmed workers feel "too much pressure" to socialise.
Research from recruitment agency Robert Walters found almost half of employees plan to skip the celebration this year.
About 20 percent said the personal cost is too much, with responsibilities like secret santa gifts, finding an outfit and paying for transport.
Almost a third of businesses are planning smaller parties this year, and about a quarter will not host any celebration at all.
