The Health Minister is to be questioned about the use of a private consultancy firm at Cork University Hospital when he attends the FORSA health divisional conference later today.
It emerged this week that advisers from PwC are working with CUH to implement a "transformation and improvement" programme.
Over €600,000 has been paid out to PwC between October and December and FORSA say they believe the use of external consultancy firms are a waste of money.
The union instructed staff not to engage with the consultants as it says the required resources to deliver this programme at CUH is already there within the existing staff framework
Speaking to RedFM News Niall Shanahan from FORSA says Minister Stephen Donnelly will be asked about the use of the consultants from PwC at the hospital.
"Our head of our health division Ashley Connolly will respond to the Health Minister on Friday morning.
"I know that on the agenda, the contracting in of consultants as has been the case in CUH, and the outsourcing of recruitment work and Human Resources work will certainly be brought to the Minister's attention, and we will be debating motions on these issues."
