The rural and community development minister is being challenged to explain how the counties in her constituency received one fifth of a national fund.
Heather Humphreys allocated 1.9 million euro in funding to Cavan and Monaghan from a fund to resurface rural laneways.
That figure is almost four times the amount awarded to Cork, a county more than twice their combined size.
Sinn Fein TD, Claire Kerrane says minister Humphreys has serious questions to answer:
"The Minister needs to tell us why the way in which the funding allocation changed all of a sudden for this round of funding, and she needs to be clear in telling us how Cavan and Monaghan, it seemed to win over the rest of the country and I think there are questions that need to be answered because we need transparency when it comes to funding for really critical, rural investment and funding."
