Gardaí in Midleton have launched an investigation after a hoax threat at St Colman’s Community College in the town.
Emergency Services attended the school this morning before the area was declared safe.
In a statement to RedFM News, Garda Press say they received a report of a threat made via email to an educational institution in Midleton this morning.
The Armed Support Unit, armed detectives, and Gardaí attended the scene and set up a cordon.
Officers canvassed the area and are satisfied the threat is a hoax.
The school has been declared safe and investigations are ongoing.
In a statement to RedFM News, Cork ETB say the school made contact with parents to inform them of the incident and to reassure them of the safety of their children.
