House prices across Cork are continuing to rise

The average price of a house in the city now stands at €337,000 while the average price in the county is €291,000 according to the latest report from Daft.

It represents a 2% rise in house prices in the city in the same period last year and a 6% rise across the county

Nationally, housing prices in the third quarter of 2023 rose by 1.1% compared to the second quarter of the year,

The typical listed price nationwide was just over €322,000 which is 3.7% higher than a year ago and roughly 13% below the Celtic Tiger peak

The number of homes available to buy nationwide on September 1st stood at just under 12,200, down over 20% year-on-year.

Speaking to RedFM News, auctioneer Jeremy Murphy says there is strong demand for homes in Cork:

"There's an awful lot of American multinationals in the city, down to Carrigaline, Ringaskiddy, Carrigtwohill, allthe way to Ballincollig. Cork is really good at the moment, it's very popular, prices are nowhere near they are in Dublin. Huge levels of employment. So generally confidence is good in Cork at the moment."
