Householders face paying an extra 200 euro a year on their energy bills, as Bord Gais has announced a rise.
Those increases take effect from October 24th, and will be in place until Spring of next year.
The company says the hikes are down to an 'all time high' cost of energy.
Darragh Cassidy, Head of Communications at Bonkers.ie, says it's not the first time the company has raised prices this year:
"It's the third time this year that it's increased electricity prices, and the second time this year that it's increased gas prices. So when you take all those price increases into account, you're looking at a hit of around €340 more on your electricity bill and €200 extra on your gas bill so it's not an insignificant amount."
