Up to 300 people turned out for the funeral of a Cork woman in Carlow, following a social media appeal made by an undertaker.
Mary Regan died in the care of Hillview Nursing Home last Friday, and had no next of kin.
Funeral Director Rory Healy asked people to attend her funeral mass, so she 'gets a farewell from her adopted town of Carlow, by the people of Carlow'.
Mary will be laid to rest in Adrigole, West Cork, alongside her deceased family.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Funeral director Rory Healy outlined what prompted him to issue the appeal
"I was thinking last night what could I do to get a few extra people just to say farewell to Mary, and thankfully the people of Carlow answered my plea. I am overjoyed and my heart is full of pride for with the people of Carlow today"
