The conservatorship that's controlled the life of Britney Spears could be coming to an end after 13 years.
Her father has filed a petition to scrap the legal arrangement - saying circumstances have changed.
The star has tried to remove him from the role twice in the last two years - a judge will make the final decision.
Jamie Spears has always strongly denied exploiting his daughter.
US journalist Scottie Nell Hughes has this message from Britney's legal team.
"Just because he's relinquishing, doesn't mean that we're going to continue to pursue legal justice for Britney, considering everything she's gone through the past 13 years at the hands of her father."
