There's been a broad welcome to the decision by the Northern Secretary not to hold a Stormont election in December.
Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney says it creates space for progress on other issues.
Sinn Féin, though, says the move is more dithering and indecision and a conituation of the Tory chaos in London.
Ulster Unionist Party Leader leader Doug Beattie thinks it's the right move:
"Well, that's just the sensible reaction. I mean, I suppose political courage is doing the right thing, not the easy thing. And it's not easy to change your mind. But he spoke to people. We told him an election would be a bad idea. It would solve absolutely nothing. He seems to have listened and, and he's at least delayed an election. I'm not sure it's necessarily gone away".
