A decision not to prosecute a British Army veteran accused of killing two civilians on Bloody Sunday has been quashed.

The North's Public Prosecution Service dropped the case against Soldier F last year - but the High Court in Belfast has overturned the decision.

He's accused of murdering William McKinney and James Wray in Derry in 1972.

It's raised fresh questions about the UK government's plans to effectively give an amnesty to accused army veterans.

Speaking in Dublin today, Secretary of State Brandon Lewis says he wants to consult more widely before pressing ahead:

"In order to put a timeframe on what we bring forward, we want to bring something for the helps people in Northern Ireland get to the truth and get information. At the heart of this has got to be information recovery for families who have waited far too long in many cases for this, and we're determined to do that and we'll continue to work with groups to engage on those issues."
