Donald Trump has been in-dited on criminal charges by a grand jury in New York.
He allegedly made a hush money payment to the adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
He's the first former US president to face criminal charges in court - and says he's "completely innocent".
As he bids to retake the White House next year, he's also claiming "political persecution" - something echoed by his son, Donald Trump Junior.
"This is the kind of stuff that would make Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot and other sociopaths blush and it's happening right here in America."
