Former US president Donald Trump says the social media site is now "in sane hands".
But Mike Butcher from news site TechCrunch says it could be dangerous to get rid of staff so quickly.
It's reported Mr Musk will reverse permanent bans on the site, which could allow Mr Trump to return.
