Price caps on energy companies are at the top of the EU's agenda, as leaders meet for a summit in Prague.
They'll be discussing jointly purchasing gas for storage, so member states don't outbid each other.
Establishing long term gas projects with Norway and placing a temporary price cap on gas used to produce electricity will also be debated.
Speaking on his way into the conference, Taoiseach Micheál Martin says it will take some time for every member state to reach an agreement.
