EU leaders have failed to reach a final decision on a gas price cap.
However, a summit in Brussels which ran into the early hours of this morning has backed proposals from the European Commission to curb the price of energy which has soared in the wake of the war in Ukraine.
Commission President says the bloc does now have a 'solid roadmap' on energy prices.
