Evidence against Soldier F, accused of murder on Bloody Sunday, will be heard from January 16th.
The former British paratrooper is accused of the murders of James Wray and William McKinney in 1972, when members of the Parachute Regiment shot dead 13 civil rights protesters in Derry.
The case was mentioned briefly at Belfast Magistrates Court this morning.
The hearings in January are expected to last a number of weeks to decide if it should be moved to the Crown Court.
District judge Peter Magill said he did not want to hear the case on the anniversary of the shootings on January 30th.
