Experts are warning against the life-threatening dangers of 'laughing gas' in the run up to New Year's Eve celebrations.
Recent polls show Nitrous Oxide is being used as a so-called 'party drug' by a growing number of young people - but most don't realise it can cause damage to the spinal cord.
Dr David Nicoll is the clinical lead for neurology at a hospital in Birmingham in the UK:
"Since the beginning of the pandemic, we noticed things getting worse. I'd maybe see a case once every two months or so. And now, you know, in the main hospital, the main Neuroscience Centre in Birmingham, it's actually the commonest cause for acute neurological admission".
