The families of hostages kept by a member of the Islamic State terror cell 'The Beatles' say his refusal to address them at his sentencing 'speaks volumes.'

El Shafee Elsheikh was jailed for life in the US for his role in a hostage-taking scheme, which involved the torture and execution of prisoners in Iraq and Syria.

The former British national declined to speak before he was sentenced.
