The first case of monkeypox has been identified in the Republic.
It was detected by health authorities last night and the person involved has not been hospitalised.
A further suspected case of the mild illness is also being investigated.
It comes as the first case on the island was confirmed in the north on Thursday.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says vaccines are on the way to help fight the virus:
"We have about 200 or so, a little over 200 cases reported in Europe. Thankfully, a very, very small number of them have been hospitalised and I'm advised that that's where people had underlying conditions - immunocompromised. We have a confirmed case as of yesterday in the east of the country. And what the HSE has secured is what's called third generation smallpox vaccine. That's on its way in now".
