The Ford Fiesta is going out of production today after 47 years.
Ford will make the final Fiesta at its factory in Cologne in Germany - before the site is modified to make more room for electric vehicles.
Over 22 million Fiestas have been sold globally since its launch in 1976.
Paddy Comyn, Head of Communications at the AA Ireland, says the model was popular "starter" car:
"The Ford Fiesta was a mainstay of the Irish motoring scene for generations now because it was many people's first car, lots of people learned how to drive in one, your Parish Priest might have been driving one, maybe your school teacher, so they were a frequent sight across the nation. So it's sad to hear that this car is coming to an end and the smaller cars in general are starting to fade out so a sad day for motoring".
