The number of confirmed and suspected cases of coronavirus around the world has passed the 2-million mark.

Global deaths now stand at more than 119,000.

More than 587,000 people have got the disease in the US, and nearly 24,000 have died.

The director-general of the World Health Organisation, Tedros Ghebreyesus, is warning countries not to lift restrictions too soon.

"Control measures can only be lifted if the right public health measures are in place, including significant capacity for contact tracing.

"As I have said many times, physical distancing restrictions are only part of the equation, and there are many other basic health measures that need to be put in place."
