The Government expects getting additional accommodation to house incoming refugees, will be "very challenging" for the next month.
The Department of Integration says the Citywest Transit Hub for Ukrainians will be closed from Christmas Eve until December 27th - meaning anyone fleeing war arriving into Ireland will be put up in local authority sites.
It reiterated the agreement with the Ukrainian Ambassador to tell those considering coming to Ireland, but are already in a safe location, to stay there.
The State is housing more than 50,000 people from Ukraine, as well as 18,000 people looking for International Protection.
