Six Irish citizens have been evacuated from Afghanistan since the Taliban seized power, with 35 Irish people still in the country.
The militant group insists it has changed since last in power 20 years ago, and will allow women to be educated and work.
However, David Loyn, who has previously worked for the office of the Afghan President, says this is all part of a dishonest charm-offensive:
"They've allowed women reporters, mostly, to continue to work but behind that the Taliban in the streets are going house to house with lists of people who worked with the government and murdering them. There are Taliban in areas, and these are well attested reports, taking young women from their homes and handing them over to young Taliban fighters as war booty wives, so called, sex slaves effectively."
