Kazakhstan's former National Security Chief has been arrested on suspicion of treason amid violent protests.
Karim Massimov, who was fired this week, has now been detained along with several other officials.
Meanwhile dozens have died in violent clashes in the country, with the President ordering his troops to shoot-to-kill in an attempt to dampen the uprising.
Demonstrations began in response to a price hike for fuel on New Years Day but has since grown into an anti-government protest campaign.
