A man arrested following a raid in Cork in connection with an ongoing investigation into trans-national cybercrime is due to appear in court today.
The 40 year old man was arrested by members of the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau who are working with the FBI to combat cybercrime.
The man has been charged following his arrest yesterday and will appear before a sitting of the City District Court today.
Gardaí from the National Cyber Crime Bureau yesterday raided a number of properties and seized property and assets including crypto currencies.
A number of computers discovered during the raid are also being forensically examined.
A 42 year old women who was also arrested yesterday has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
