A man has died in the North after his car was hit by a falling tree in County Antrim yesterday.
Around 80-thosuand homes are also without power in Scotland as storm Arwen unleashed winds of up to 78 miles per hour.
Initially, a red weather warning was in place for the area - meaning 'a danger to life'.
That's been downgraded to amber and yellow, while the Republic has no warnings in place.
Conditions were not as severe here - but Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather, says winter has definitely arrived:
"It's going to be a very cold and windy day. It really is going to feel bitterly cold in a strong northerly wind. And the wind will only slowly ease through into the afternoon but continuing strong. Some showers also, mainly in northern and Northwest areas, some falling as sleet and possibly even snow on high ground."
