Meta - the company which owns Instagram - is investigating after Manchester United footballer Anthony Elanga was racially abused on the platform.
The forward was targeted after he missed a penalty in the shoot-out with Middlesbrough, which handed the Championship side an FA Cup fourth round victory.
Aberdeen striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was among those to highlight the abuse.
