New infringement proceedings over the Northern Ireland protocol have been launched by the EU against the UK.
It's over the failure of the British Government to implement aspects of the Brexit deal relating to the North.
Four new actions are being taken in addition to proceedings launched in June.
EU Commission spokesperson, Arianna Podesta, explains why the action is being taken now:
"The UK unwillingness to engage in a meaningful manner in discussions since last February and the continued passage of the Northern Ireland Bill protocol through the UK Parliament goes directly against the spirit of cooperation I was mentioning and it is in this context that we have also launched the new infringements for non compliance with significant parts of the protocol."
