The coronavirus pandemic could push more than half a billion people into poverty, according to a new report.
International aid group Oxfam is calling for urgent and dramatic action to prevent that happening.
The group is calling for international leaders to agree a 2.5 trillion dollar rescue package to prevent 'global economic collapse'.
Oxfam chief executive Jim Clarken is calling on rich nations to support poorer countries who have been badly hit.
"What we've seen int he last few weeks is because of the lockdowns in countries across the developing world particularly, people have immediately lost their jobs.
"In a lot of these countries there's no unemployment benefits, there's only unemployment benefits for about 20% of people across the world.
"So these are people who live from day to day on informal work in order to eat."
