The Pentagon says the US military launched airstrikes on two locations in eastern Syria linked to Iranian-backed milita groups.
They say it's in retaliation for alleged drone and missile attacks against American bases in the region.
The US says its forces have been subjected to at least 12 attacks in the past week, most were unsuccessful.
