People are being reminded to be safe in the water this weekend.
Swimmers should look for designated areas to swim - and be cautious about swimming in fast moving waters like rivers.
RNLI Water Safety Education Manager, Killian O'Kelly outlines the risks:
"Moving water is a lot more dangerous than lakes and the ocean. Moving water has the ability to drag people under, and drag people away from safety and away from the shore. So you should really only swim in designated swimming areas. So for example they're in Lough Derg, in Mount Shannon, they have lifeguards on for the summer, and they have areas that are safe for swimming, and nice codes that are safe for swimming".
