A Russian-ordered temporary ceasefire on the Ukrainian frontline is underway.
The truce, which lasts until midnight tomorrow, was directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to respect Russian Orthodox Christmas.
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed the ceasefire as a "trick", with US President Joe Biden suggesting the offer was a sign of desperation.
Journalist Emmanuele Chaze, who's in Kyiv, says many Ukrainians celebrated Christmas on December 25th:
"There are some people who will celebrate Christmas today as well, but due to the war, a majority of them decided to switch to the Western celebration, and even the Ukrainian Orthodox Church allowed people to celebrate it on the 25th of December".
